My professional identity is one that blends and blurs the boundaries between my artistic interests. As far as I'm concerned, there is little fundamental difference between my three passions: using artistic expression to bring concepts to light, creating architectural space through materials and forms, and finally capturing the built and natural world through photographic means. All of these processes require the use of the universal design elements and principles to arrive at meaningful compositions. Architecture, the graphic arts, and photography combine under the under the influence of my primary foundation: art. Focusing on drawing and painting as a child, I later accumulated these three passions that each require the same artistic mindset to capture, process and re-imagine our world.
In my spare time, I am passionate about getting outdoors and being part of nature, whether on the hiking trail or spending time by a body of water. However, I always do carry my camera along with me. I recently completed my first half-marathon. Travel and languages are incredibly interesting to me. Learning Italian is an ongoing pursuit.
The terms listed below as subtexts to each body of work highlight, firstly, an essential process inherent to the work and, secondly, an important end result that I feel strongly is the reason why my work can never be mutually exclusive. Think of these as possessive apostrophes. I take ownership over these aspects of my work, and in the end they define who I am and what I am striving for.
